The Citizen Committee for Forcibly Evicted People (CCFEP)

CCFEP is a forum established by the forcibly evicted northern people to advocate and lobby for promotion and protection of the rights of the evicted people who have been facing/suffering large number of human rights violations since 1990. CCFEP assists CTF in monitoring and documenting the human rights violations faced by the evicted people, and implementing human right activities in its operational districts while playing a significant role in advocating and lobbying at different levels. Following are some of the key activities that the CCFEP actively involved during the year 2007.
· Consultation on protection of human rights of Internally Displaced Persons.
· Awareness workshop on human rights of IDPs.
· Forcibly Evicted People's public opinion gathering and dissemination.
· Lobbying the government to establish a committee to investigate into the health condition and human right violations of the forcibly evicted people.
· Organizing paralegal training for key people in their community.
· Network with other civil society organization and involved in promotion & protection of issues related to their displacement and human rights.
CCFEP consists of 05 members nominated from and representing the forcibly evicted northern people. There are 25 Pressure Groups initiated by CCFEP (average 15 members in each pressure group). They hold their monthly meetings and bring out various issues affecting the evicted people for necessary action by CTF as well as other concerned authorities.
