On 07th January 2008, CTF celebrated its 14th Birthday Ceremony at Town Hall Puttalam. Our Chief Guest K.Fernando, Additional Government Agent received an annual report. Number of participants participated in that occasion.

 

 

 

On 5 – 06th January 2008 get together event of CTF was held in Thalavila Area Kalpitiya. the team members of CTF enjoyed that period joyfully regardless  religion, language and race.

 

 

 

 

Ms. Johanna Vendapern (in the beige jacket facing away from the camera), UNICEF representative for Sri Lanka, attends a CTF-UNICEF celebration held on 23 December 23 2006. The celebration commemorated the thirteenth anniversary of the birth of CTF and ten years of joint CTF-UNICEF collaboration.

 

From 18-20 January, 2007, USAID held a workshop about peace initiatives. Fifteen CTF staff members attended the workshop.

CTF was very active during Women’s Day (8 March 2007). On Women’s Day, Sri Lankans celebrate the special contribution that women make to society. During this day, women can take a break from their hard work and play together.

On 4 April 2007, CTF observed International Mine Awareness Day. To mark the International Mine Awareness Day, CTF organized ceremonies in Mannar, Vavuniya, and Trincomalee to celebrate the hard work of people who have helped raise awareness about mines. Ceremonies were marked with singing, dancing, speeches, and awards. More than 1700 people took part in these events.This photo shows women dancing during the Mine Awareness Day celebration in Vavuniya.

 

 

On July 17, CTF organised a farewell party for Ms. Johanna Vendapern (left), UNICEF representative for Sri Lanka. In this photo, a CTF Trustee (right) gives a bracelet to Ms. Vendapern.

 

 

 

From 15-16 August, CTF and AMAN International organized the HIV-AIDS

Pre-ICAAP Workshop. The Workshop focused on the effect of HIV and AIDS on Sri Lanka's muslim community.

A CORDAID team visited the CTF Trincomalee Field Bureau with a CTF Managing Trustee on August 22, 2007. They talked about internally displaced persons (IDPs) and visited some IDP camps in Killiweddy
